Burwood Student Theatre Company (BuST Co.) is a student-run theatre company based at Deakin University, Burwood.

Founded in 1988, initially known as ‘The Burlesque Troupe’ the company aimed to provide quality theatre for the Deakin student base.
Since then, BuST Co. has evolved in leaps and bounds having staged over 50 productions including straight plays, musicals, variety shows and comedy revues. BuST Co. prides itself on its openness to theatre and its forms.

As such we are always glad to receive proposals for future BuST Co. productions and generally seek application for all artistic team and cast positions upon the announcement of our latest project. While BuST Co. has many regulars and past performers return we always love to see new faces, especially younger first-time performers, and welcome all that are interested with open arms.

There’s always something going on and we’d love to see you there, having a ball with us.

 

There are also movie nights, trivia nights and other social activities for members and friends. Each year the company runs a variety of events for members and the community, including a major production; previous years include productions of Hairspray, Rent, Pirates of Penzance, West Side Story and Grease.
